Political Donations by Executives

Personal donations of $200 or more must be reported to the Federal Election Commission with the donor's employer. We matched them to the executives who file Form 4 for their companies.

From FEC individual contribution records for the current and previous election cycles, searched by the executive's name and employer. People with common names can be mixed up, and donations through employers' PACs are not included. "Other and PACs" are committees with no party, such as industry PACs. Party split: Democrats and Republicans committees, including the ActBlue and WinRed conduits.

Examples

  • Federal law caps what one person can give a candidate per election, but not what they can give to super PACs, which is where the largest executive donations go.
  • An executive who gives mostly to one party may still run a company whose PAC gives to both.
