Stocks Trading Below What Insiders Paid
175 stocks now trade at least 5% below the average price their insiders paid with their own money in the past six months. 45 of them are 20% or more below.
What this list shows
When an executive or director buys shares on the open market, they pay the market price with their own money and have to report it on Form 4 within two business days. That price is a useful reference point: it is what someone with the best view of the business decided the stock was worth paying. This list shows the stocks that have since fallen below that price, so a new buyer today would pay less than the insiders did.
For each stock we add up every open-market purchase of $25,000 or more in the last six months and work out the average price paid (total dollars divided by total shares). A stock appears when its latest weekly price is at least 5% below that average, the insiders together put in at least $100,000, and the stock trades above $1.

Where the chief executive bought
A purchase by the person running the company tends to carry the most information. These stocks are below the price paid and the buyers include the CEO: ENPH (−53%), XAIR (−51%), FUN (−47%), CTEV (−44%), LODE (−42%), LBGJ (−38%), CTSO (−35%), CLIK (−32%), OPEN (−29%), ALDX (−28%), PWRL (−24%), BW (−23%).
How to read it
Being below the insider's price is not a reason to buy on its own. Insiders can be early, and a stock that kept falling after they bought may be falling for good reasons. What the list does is turn a vague signal into a concrete question: the people inside the company paid more than this, so what has changed since? Check the company's latest 10-Q and 8-K filings and any news since the purchase date. Our own study of 2026 insider purchases found the typical purchase roughly kept pace with the S&P 500 over three months, with a minority doing very well, so the list is a starting point for research, not a shortcut.
Weekly prices come from SEC data and can be a few weeks behind, so today's price may differ. The live chart on each stock page shows the current price.
Examples
From the data: insiders at Six Flags Entertainment Corporation/NEW (FUN) bought $6.14M of stock over 3 purchases at an average of 23.09 a share, most recently on Aug 12, 2026. The latest weekly price is 12.32, −46.6% from what they paid.
A well-known case: in February 2016, with bank stocks falling, JPMorgan Chase chief executive Jamie Dimon bought 500,000 JPMorgan shares on the open market for about $26.6 million, at roughly $53 a share. Anyone who saw the Form 4 in the days after could buy near the same price. The stock was well above that level within a year. It worked that time; plenty of similar purchases have not.
Explain it like I'm 13
Imagine the chef at a pizza place buys a share of the restaurant for $50, using her own savings. A few weeks later the share costs $40. You can now buy it cheaper than the person who knows the kitchen best. That might be a bargain, or she might have been wrong. This list shows those "cheaper than the chef paid" situations so you can go and find out which.

A real example
In January 2016, when bank stocks were falling, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon bought 500,000 JPMorgan shares with his own money, worth about $26 million. His Form 4 made the purchase public within days, and investors read it as a strong sign of confidence.
